Thanks Guys!

I just wanted to write a small message to thank all of you.

So far the BETA has been a great success and considering that this is the BETA things wen't very well.
Some bugs were to be expected but they are all far under the level then that I personally had expected, hats off Tim3! <3

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the rest of the community for being there today and submitting bug reports and broken maps.
Now hopefully we can optimize the game mode so you can soon enjoy the server to the fullest.

Hey folks!

Some big news for EPG - our ex-leader TiM3 came back from the dead and brought with him the devil's pitchfork and a brand new gamemode!
He has been working on the gamemode for some months already and it has been tested in private, however,
some bugs are hard to track and unexpected malfunctions may occur, therefore, we're launching a public BETA!
We'll be shutting down the current server and making this available as its replacement.
This is an important step for EPG, we hope you like it and help out finding any issues with it.

When the server is ready with the new gamemode, please report any bug on THIS thread, and not on this news.


Brief explanation about the gamemode:

As you guys know, tma's addon has kept the same visual for years.
Players are used to it, and why wouldn't they be? It's simple and elegant.

But up to this date we have tried to squeeze every new idea into this addon
which created quite a mess and the issue of forcing players to play maps or modes they don't want to play.
We ended up driving ourselves into a corner with no space left for innovation.

With this new gamemode all of this won't be a problem anymore.
It has huge potential and almost endless possibilities regarding upgrades.
For now, this gamemode is based on several rooms: Death Match, Destruction Derby, Hunter, Shooter, Race and Freeroam.

At first I want to mention that there are two major changes which come with this new gamemode.


1. Points instead of virtual cash

Yes, we finally got rid of our cashsystem which caused a lot of scamming, bitching and an overall negative atmosphere on our server.
Instead of unnecessarily collecting huge amounts of cash (not being able to spend it) you'll be able to achieve points.
There are several ways of earning points:

+ DM:
  > Reaching Hunter
  > Round rank
  > Hunter kills
  > Setting TTs
+ DD:
  > Round rank
  > Kills
+ Race:
  > Round rank
  > Setting TTs
[epg0fc+[/0fc] Hunter:
  > Kills
+ Shooter:
  > Kills
+ Freeroam:
  > Kills (while on an assassination contract - players need to find hidden pickups which ask the player to kill another for an amount of points)

But at the same time you won't be able to spend them like you're used to it. By reaching a certain baseline of points you'll enable different features.
The higher your total points the better the features you get. Your points will NEVER vanish unless an admin wipes your stats due to you fucking up in our server.
With cash being gone you will also not be able to buy maps. After reaching a certain amount of points you'll just be able to set them.
But of course there is a limit of how many maps you can set a day.
This won't only fix the issue of playing the same maps over and over again but it will also make sure that ALL players have the same chance to play the maps they want to play.

That being said we also worked our asses off doing a huge map refreshment.
We have tested roughly 2300 maps and ended up deleting 902 of them.
This already shows how messed up the map pool was. Playing random maps shouldn't cause any rage or death threats to the map testers anymore (Ok probably not).


2. Monthly championships

With the new point system there also comes something to create more competition in our server - a championship system (ranking).
This system is closely connected to the point system.
Every room there is (except freeroam) has its own championship which lasts for one month and then gets reset.
In addition to this there will also be a global championship including the points you get in all the rooms together.
The 3 players with the highest amount of points will get rewarded at the moment the championship is over.
If you manage to make it to the top 3 you'll enable certain features I don't want to spoil yet.
The championship winners will also get marked ingame with certain icons you'll discover.

Also your forum account will now be directly linked to our server, this means your stats account with be your forum account.
This server-forum connection will also allow us to present the championship results in our website - displaying them on the following page(s):

Regarding the Freeroam-room:

This room has spawnpoints, vehicles, houses and contracts.
Players can occupy houses when they reach the necessary amount of points. Occupying a house will make that position the player's spawnpoint.

Yet this room is far from being what one would call "done". That just means we are still working on it.


The whole design is completely new but still based on a fresh, elite and at the same time a simple look. This is how most of us used to know EPG and we'll definitely keep it this way.

You'll realise that there are still some features missing we had on main. They will most likely get added soon - so don't worry.
As for now we need your help to get rid of remaining bugs. Suggestions are welcome as well (if they are original).

I'm quite sure there are still tons of questions which pop up in your head now. Feel free to ask here or join the server (as soon as it is online) and discover it yourself.

TulioTC successfully passed the trial period and he's now full level 2 EPG member, congratz!
Tsubasa trial period is extended to unknown date since his PC unluckly got broken.

EPG gamemode supports new maps type: [STUNT]
All you have to do is to earn 50k stunt points to get hunter and kill other players.

I would like to announce that EPG server gamemode has been updated.

New features:
+ Custom vehicle skins (current skins for: banshee, buffalo, bullet, cheetah, comet, infernus, super GT, turismo, NRG-500, hunter)
+ New vehicle wheels!
+ Floating LED stunt and OJ scores. (tma's code)

You can disable/enable vehicle skins and that LED effect in PREFS #2 tab (F7).
